CHAPTER 15

Victoria

“Are you going to hurt me?” Victoria asked the large man in front of her.

“I… I don’t think that’s the purpose of today.” He said confused. He had on a loose pair of grey sweatpants and a tank that showed parts of his muscled chest. It even showed one of his nipples. He was extremely tall, and his shoulders were twice hers.

“I just need you to know that I once bit off a chunk of man’s ear when he tried to hurt me.” Her voice had a hunting nature to it while she evaluated what would be the first move to make.

“I … what?” The man mumbled. There was confusion on his face before he took a few steps back and looked towards the big boss leaning against the robes of the boxing ring. Arsen sighed loudly before he shook his head.

“Stop playing with him, angel.”

“Aren’t mind games the most important part in fights?”

“What would you know about mind games, Vicky?” Arsen asked with his eyebrows raised before he bounced his arms on the ropes.

“You’re right. I know nothing about mind games because my father straight up told me it was going to hurt. And you know what, Derek? It always did.” She pounced on him. Quickly she raised her knee and hit him where his spleen was. He groaned loudly while she heard Arsen chuckle. Her second move was a hit against his chin which made him stagger backwards. A light shone in his eyes as Derek laughed. She couldn’t help but join him.

“Damn, girl.” He said before he cracked his neck to indicate he was ready to go. He moved quickly and while she was able to keep him off for a few minutes, in the end, she found herself plastered on the mat with Derek on top of her.

“I win.” Derek said before he sat on his knees to help her up.

“Of course, what did you expect? Have you taken a look in the mirror yet? You’re huge. It’s like fighting a mountain. Can’t win then.” Victoria said while she stretched her back before she sagged forward. Her gaze found Arsen’s. He stared at her completely underwhelmed.

“What?” She snarled. “Are you kidding me? You expected me to win against Derek? I bet you couldn’t even defeat him.”

“Probably.” Arsen said. “I’ll end up using a gun to get rid of him.” His facial expression changed drastically the second his last word was spoken. It was as if a switch got turned and he went from comfortable to hateful. His eyebrows lowered while he squinted his eyes, but Arsen wasn’t looking at Victoria, his attention was fully focused on Derek.

He didn’t look away as his fingers grabbed the ropes tighter until his knuckles turned white from the pressure. What is happening, Victoria wondered before she stood up and offered Derek a hand.

“Just so you know, you big giant, gunshot wounds hurt like a bitch.”

“You’ve been shot before?” Derek asked while he grabbed his water bottle, glancing at Arsen every once in a while.
